Coach David

Kyle, along with his wife Ashley and daughter have two dogs and chickens. Before embarking on his career in law enforcement as a patrol officer, Kyle had a career in EMS, running 911 calls in Los Angeles County. He now divides his time between ministry work at his church and caring for his daughter Lyla. A lifelong churchgoer across various denominations, Kyle became fully committed to his walk with Jesus at 18 years old. He is an avid shooter, reader, and is passionate about the outdoors.

Coach Kyle

David was born in Southern California and was raised in a Christian cult. While this upbringing instilled a love for the Lord in him, it also left him with some challenging issues. The abuse remained unknown for years, but as he grew up, its effects began to surface and needed to be addressed. After his daughter’s mother struggled with drug addiction and accumulated three felonies and 15 misdemeanors within two weeks, David was awarded custody of their daughter. She went through a diversion program, found the Lord, and got saved. Two years later, they started dating again, and David was moved to restore his relationship with the Lord and get baptized. They have been married for almost four years and have leaned on the Lord every step of the way.

Coach JD

J.D.’s life is centered around faith, family, and service. From a young age, he found solace and purpose in his relationship with the Lord, dedicating himself to faithfully serving in his church’s music ministry. His deep-rooted spirituality permeates every aspect of his life, guiding his actions and shaping his values. Despite facing hardships, such as the loss of his father a few years ago, J.D. remains steadfast in his faith and resilient in the face of adversity. He draws strength from his belief and finds comfort in the support of his loved ones. Professionally, J.D. is a respected figure in the field of senior care. With roles ranging from consultant to administrator to corporate risk manager, he brings a compassionate and diligent approach to his work, ensuring the well-being and safety of the elderly community he serves. Living in southern California allows J.D. to engage in almost unlimited outdoor activities. In his spare time, he indulges in his favorite activities, including snowboarding, hunting, fishing, and mountain biking. He also finds joy in simpler pleasures like spending quality time with his family, backpacking across Catalina Island, and coaching both of his sons’baseball teams.

About Jim Domen

Testimonials

  • Lust had control on my life. No matter what I tried I just couldn’t break free. Every attempt ended in failure. I had reached a point where I felt my only options were to try and minimize it or just live with it. Then I read Jim’s book, and he showed me the path to freedom from lust. The irony is that I clung to lust because I thought it brought me happiness. The reality is happiness came when I broke lust’s grasp.

  • Pastor Jim Domen has provided men the pathway to life! I found his book very enlightening and moving! It is more applicable to my life, currently, than you may know. It was a very refreshing and motivating book to read! Through his seven-step process and the humility of actual, individual struggles; Jim offers a road map to redemption from our sins. As men and humans, we all struggle with temptation and sin. The fol- lowing words give us guidance to break sins grasp, embrace Gods will, and be the leaders that God intended us to be. This book should be the foundation for all men, those who wish to embrace the Holy Spirit and choose freedom.

  • To say I’ve been caught in the unbreakable cycle is an understatement. I had hoped being married would put my desires within the bounds of BREAKING SIN’S GRASP being acceptable but that hasn’t been the case. Coming back to Christ three years ago and getting baptized helped but after some time fell back into the same struggle. I think the worst part is not feeling saved. Not feeling renewed. Not feeling the Holy Spirit. I want more than anything to feel alive in Christ and dead to myself. But I do what I hate and not what I want to do. I have so many triggers I don’t even know where to start.

  • I think a lot of men suffer from imposter syndrome and having a group of likeminded men and seeing the struggle of other brothers helps soothe or correct that. I still really struggle with imposter syndrome in the work- space so when it creeps into my personal life, I’m like “whoa now!”

  • I am retired from public service and have been a friend of Jim for more than 20 years. During those years we have shared in Bible study, small groups, family gatherings and shared in prayer and accountability groups. What a great subject Jim took on with his most recent book, Breaking Sin’s Grasp, Your Temptation Doesn’t Define You. We are currently living in a world full of challenges and darkness. If you are a person of faith, then you know Jesus was and always will be the only one without sin. No one is perfect and no one is free of mistakes. This book addresses a number of areas in life which leads us to dark or isolated places in life, and offers ways for us to overcome the darkness, mend relationships, and help us grow in relationships, especially in relationship with God. Wherever you currently see yourself, faith-based or not, this read has something for you. A book filled with hope and help, this book would be perfect for a Bible study, a group environment surrounding, a retreat and or counseling environment. As a son, brother, husband, father and friend I was encouraged through this book, and found ways I can provide support and encouragement for others struggling or looking for more in their lives. This book will encourage you to find the light in darkness, with thoughtful and manageable ways to get there.
